All of our clients receive a regular valuation of their investment portfolio, which we call your quarterly valuation. This is a regular update of your investment performance, produced every three months in January, April, July, and October.
Why do we provide a quarterly valuation?
The main reason for the quarterly valuation is to provide you with a regular update of your investments in a simple and straightforward way. We want to keep you updated on how your investments are doing so you get a better insight into how they perform over time. We also want to educate you in the changing nature of investments over time, so that you can be more comfortable with the process.
As a client, you can also log in to our secure client portal to obtain up-to-date valuations whenever you want.
A simple valuation
Your quarterly valuation provides you with a regular update on the performance of your investment portfolio. Each valuation comes with data on:
- The current value
- The value at the last review
- Income and contributions
- The change in value of your portfolio as a monetary and percentage figure
We also provide you with some context as to how well your investments have performed over the last 3 months, including data on movements in the stock market.
Finally, we provide you with some commentary from your financial planner to show you how well your investments have been doing.
A straightforward report
Your quarterly valuation comes with a short additional report, which breaks down the investment performance of the various products you hold. For example, you may hold a combination of accounts like ISAs, pensions, and other investments. Your report gives more detail on the investment movements, fund holdings, contributions, and withdrawals. Clients tend to dip into this data if they need further specific information,
Keeping in touch
Your financial adviser will be in touch after you receive your quarterly valuation to discuss the changes to your investment portfolio. This is an important part of our process, and clients find it valuable to ask questions about the performance of their investments. We believe that it is important to keep in touch with you regularly as part of our service commitment. In general, it makes sense to discuss your changing situation regularly, so we can adjust to your needs as they happen.
Annual investment reviews
Each client also gets a full annual report and review of their investments as part of our ongoing Prosper service. This is a more comprehensive review of your investment position, which allows you to keep your investments in line with your goals. The annual review is held in addition to your quarterly valuation.
Investment performance data
As a client, your quarterly valuations give you precise data on how your own investments have performed. This data takes into account your own investments, charges, contributions, and withdrawals.
