Are you losing money by not shopping around?
With us you will gain the benefit of access to every
product on the open market and every available fund, meaning we
should be able to save you money. Unlike some other 'independent'
financial advisers, we do not use panels of providers. We value
this approach because it guarantees to give you the best results.
What does independent mean?
Independent should mean unbiased, at least that is what we offer.
We work on behalf of you the client, and are not tied in any way
to product providers. This means that you should get the best value
for money as we can shop around on your behalf in search of the
best deal for your needs. Not only that, but we will also give you
advice on the suitability of our recommendations, so you can be
sure that you are making the right decisions.
Who might not be independent?
Many firms do not advise on the whole of the market. This means
that you might not get the best deal for your needs; in fact we
feel that this is unlikely with these advisers. Non-independent
advisers fit into the following categories:
- Tied
These firms offer only the products of their sponsor. Typically
this approach is taken by the banks. You might get the best deal
available on the market, but it is extremely unlikely given that
there will be many other options to choose from.
- Multi-tied
Some firms, such as estate agencies, offer a range of providers
to choose from. On the face of it you are getting some shopping
around. However, they usually only use a panel of providers (i.e.
those that pay the best commission). They may be able to give
you a good deal, but are they offering the best deal for your
needs?
Each firm chooses their status; you should always
look for independent, unbiased advice.
